To integrate these key themes in a European-wide effort for the development of best practice for both clinical research and treatment.

  • To serve as a working group for the identification, prioritisation and evaluation of potential therapeutic compounds for application in Alzheimer’s and related dementias
  • To provide an infrastructure (i.e. a working network) of expert centres to conduct both commercial and non-commerical clinical trials of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions
  • To strive for excellence in both clinical practice and research by developing protocols that involve considered and validated assessment protocols for evaluating clinical evolution of patients and to capture the carer experience
  • To encapsulate all these aspects noting and working with European-wide variation in cultural and ethical issues in Alzheimer’s research and working towards the evaluation and further development of European guidelines on Ethical issues in dementia.
