Groups will be run by their chairman who will be helped by the co-ordinating centres correspondent.

Each group will work to achieve an understanding of current practice within all centres then aim to standardise nomenclature, diagnostic criteria and assessment tools within its specialist area and will then organise their preliminary trials. This preliminary trial will recruit 20 patients per centre and will start in April 2002 following the appropriate personnel training sessions.
The groups will also function as a means of disseminating information to the members of the consortium about the important research issues and findings relevant to each group, as they become apparent.
